About the Role
Oak Tree Supported Living is looking for a Support Worker to join our Bristol team, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live well in their own homes and engage fully with their communities.
This is a hands-on, varied role. You will support people with everything from personal care and cooking to attending college, visiting friends, and pursuing hobbies. No two shifts are the same.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting individuals with learning disabilities in their daily routines using an active support approach
- Accompanying people to community activities, appointments, and social events
- Helping people develop and maintain independence skills at their own pace
- Following person-centred support plans and contributing to their review
- Recognising and responding to distress or anxiety with empathy and skill
- Keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with the wider team
- Attending regular team meetings and training sessions
What We Are Looking For
- A genuine interest in supporting people with learning disabilities to live full, self-directed lives
- Patience, creativity, and a good sense of humour
- Willingness to learn and undertake specialist training
- Ability to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends
- Enhanced DBS check (paid by Oak Tree)
- Full UK driving licence preferred
What We Offer
- £12.00 per hour, rising to £12.50 after probation
- NVQ Level 2 / 3 funding
