About the Role
We have a part-time opening for a Waking Night Support Worker at our Guildford residential care home. You will be the lead presence overnight, supporting residents who need assistance, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding calmly to any night-time needs.
This role suits someone who is reliable, alert, and comfortable working independently with the confidence to escalate when needed.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carrying out regular welfare checks throughout the night
- Responding to residents’ calls and night-time needs, including personal care when required
- Supporting residents who are restless, anxious, or distressed
- Maintaining accurate night records and handover notes for the morning team
- Administering medication where trained to do so
- Ensuring the home is secure and safe throughout the night
- Escalating concerns promptly to the on-call manager
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a care or support role — nights experience is a bonus but not essential
- Calm, grounded temperament — unflappable under pressure
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgements overnight
- Good written communication for handover notes
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
