About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our Guildford home and take a lead role within the care team. Working alongside our registered nurses and deputy manager, you will take responsibility for medication administration, care plan oversight, and supporting junior staff during your shift.
This is a step up from care assistant level — you will be expected to lead by example and help set the standard for the whole team.
What You Will Be Doing
- Administering medications safely and accurately, maintaining medication administration records
- Leading the shift in the absence of a nurse or deputy manager
- Overseeing the quality and accuracy of care records across the team during your shift
- Conducting care plan reviews and updating documentation in response to residents’ changing needs
- Mentoring and supporting junior care assistants
- Liaising with families, GPs, and visiting health professionals
- Escalating concerns appropriately and recording incidents
What We Are Looking For
- At least three years’ experience as a care assistant, ideally in a residential setting
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (essential)
- Completed or willing to complete medication administration training
- Strong, confident communication skills — written and verbal
- A natural leader who earns respect through their practice
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
