About Helping Hands Care
Helping Hands Care provides domiciliary and live-in care services across the North West and Yorkshire, supporting people to remain independent in their own homes.
About the Role
Helping Hands Care is building its bank of relief carers across Yorkshire to cover planned and unplanned absences in our domiciliary care service. Bank workers have full choice over when they work, and we have regular availability across mornings, evenings, and weekends.
This is an ideal arrangement for carers who want flexibility — whether that is to complement existing commitments, ease back into care work, or explore whether full-time domiciliary care suits them.
What the Role Involves
- Covering domiciliary care calls across the Yorkshire area when contracted staff are unavailable
- Providing personal care, medication support, and companionship visits following individual care plans
- Maintaining accurate digital records at the end of each call
- Being available for a minimum agreed number of shifts per month
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a care setting (essential — bank roles are not entry-level)
- Reliable, flexible, and available at short notice when needed
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
- Good communication and accurate record keeping
What We Offer
- £13.00 per hour (enhanced bank rate)
- Full flexibility to set your own availability
- Paid mileage between calls
- Guaranteed minimum hours each month if desired
- Supportive local coordinator available during every shift
- Care Certificate and NVQ funding available for regular bank workers
