Bright Futures Care

Children's Residential Support Worker

Bright Futures Care Manchester

About Bright Futures Care

Bright Futures Care provides specialist residential and supported living services for children, young people, and young adults with complex needs, autism, and emotional and behavioural difficulties across Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

About the Role

Bright Futures Care is looking for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our Manchester home, supporting young people aged 10–16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex trauma backgrounds.

This is a demanding and deeply rewarding role. The young people in our care have often had difficult experiences, and what they need most is consistent, kind, boundaried adults who show up reliably every day.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing day-to-day support and care for young people in a small residential home
  • Building genuine, trusting relationships with each young person over time
  • Supporting young people through school mornings, mealtimes, evening routines, and leisure activities
  • Using de-escalation skills and trauma-informed approaches to manage difficult moments
  • Working closely with the young person’s social worker, school, and other professionals
  • Contributing to care plans, risk assessments, and daily records
  • Attending team meetings, handovers, and regular individual supervision

What We Are Looking For

  • A genuine commitment to working with children and young people who have had difficult starts
  • Emotional resilience — you can hold your boundaries while remaining warm and open
  • Reliability and consistency — the young people need to know you will be there
  • Level 3 in Children and Young People (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Previous experience in residential, support, or youth work settings is preferred

What We Offer

  • £12.50 per hour
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare funded
  • Therapeutic training: trauma-informed practice, de-escalation
  • Regular individual supervision and reflective practice sessions
  • Pension and 28 days annual leave
  • A small, stable team with experienced management
