About Helping Hands Care
Helping Hands Care provides domiciliary and live-in care services across the North West and Yorkshire, supporting people to remain independent in their own homes.
About the Role
Helping Hands Care is looking for a Respite Live-in Carer to cover planned and unplanned absences within our Yorkshire live-in care service. This is an excellent introduction to live-in care for someone with a domiciliary background who wants to experience the continuity and depth of a live-in arrangement.
You will be matched to clients based on your skills and the client’s needs, and will receive a full handover from the outgoing carer before each placement.
What Respite Placements Involve
- Providing personal care, medication support, meal preparation, and companionship during a temporary placement
- Following the client’s established care plan and routine — continuity matters during respite
- Light household management during the placement
- Keeping accurate daily records and completing a thorough handover to the returning carer
- Maintaining communication with the Helping Hands coordinator throughout
What We Are Looking For
- At least one year of experience in domiciliary or residential care (essential)
- Flexibility — respite work requires the ability to move between clients and locations
- A quick, warm approach to building rapport with new clients
- Reliable written communication for handovers and records
- Full UK driving licence (preferred — some placements require a driver)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
What We Offer
- £700 per week
- Accommodation provided during every placement
- All meals included
- Full care plan handover before each placement
- Helping Hands coordinator on call throughout
- Pathway into permanent live-in roles with clients you connect with
