About the Role
Helping Hands Care is looking for an experienced Palliative Care Support Worker to join our Leeds team. You will provide compassionate, skilled care to clients in the final stages of life, supporting both the individual and their family through an incredibly important time.
This is a role for someone with emotional maturity, genuine skill, and the kind of steady presence that allows families to feel held during the most difficult days.
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing personal care and comfort care to clients receiving palliative support in their own homes
- Working closely with district nurses, GPs, and hospice teams to implement the care plan
- Managing and reporting on comfort and symptom changes
- Providing emotional support to clients and family members
- Assisting with oral care, repositioning, and pressure area care
- Supporting families with practical information about what to expect
- Completing detailed, sensitive documentation at every visit
What We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in palliative or end of life care — this is not an entry-level role
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Gold Standards Framework or equivalent end of life frameworks
- Exceptional communication skills — written and verbal
- Emotional resilience and the ability to seek support when needed
- Enhanced DBS
