About the Role
Sunrise Care Homes is looking for a specialist End of Life Care Worker to join our clinical team and lead on the delivery of high-quality comfort care and end of life support within our Guildford home.
You will work closely with our registered nurses, visiting GPs, and community palliative care teams to ensure that residents in the final stages of life receive care that is dignified, compassionate, and aligned with their wishes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Leading on comfort care for residents receiving end of life care, in line with the individual’s care plan and advance wishes
- Implementing and reviewing preferred priorities of care documentation
- Providing attentive, sensitive personal care during the dying process
- Supporting families through the end of life period — listening, explaining, and being present
- Communicating changes to the nursing team and on-call GP
- Following the Liverpool Care Pathway or equivalent framework
- Debriefing with team members after a death to support team wellbeing
What We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in a care setting with clear exposure to end of life care
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent clinical care qualification
- Emotional resilience, empathy, and a calm, steady presence
- Knowledge of advance care planning and preferred priorities of care
- Strong communication skills with families in distress
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
